Media: Robert Lewandowski could end his career! "Sensational turnaround"
Speculation surrounding Robert Lewandowski's future is growing. Spanish media are convinced that this season will be the Polish striker's last with Barcelona, and Catalan newspaper Sport has just put forward a sensational scenario.
According to Catalan journalists, the 37-year-old would even consider ending his career if there was no offer to extend his contract with the club.
Catalan journalists unanimously emphasize that Lewandowski has ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia, and that a potential continuation of his European career would depend on an attractive offer from another top club. Recently, the most recent speculation in this context was potential interest from Italian side AC Milan. Lewandowski would even be willing to accept a reserve role next season.
The Blaugrana management are in no rush to make a decision on the future of the White and Reds captain. They are aware of the 37-year-old's still real sporting value, but on the other hand, his departure would allow the club to gain financial breathing space and secure the funds to acquire a new striker.
Meanwhile, Lewandowski and his family feel great in the Catalan capital and do not rule out that this will be the last stop in his club career.
After health problems, the Pole proved that he still has enormous potential. In Sunday's LaLiga clash with Celta Vigo, he scored a hat-trick and, with seven goals, is the Catalan club's top scorer in the league.
