Hockey. Poles win!

The international Sosnowiec Cup hockey tournament, played as part of the European Nations Cup, ended at the ArcelorMittal Park ice rink. Poland won the tournament, beating Great Britain 1-0 in the decisive match. Earlier, the Polish national team won against Italy 4-2 and lost to Slovenia 2-3 after overtime.

Before the start of the final match, PZHL President Krzysztof Woźniak thanked the previous head coach of our national team, Slovak Robert Kalaber, and former team leader Leszek Laszkiewicz, presenting them with commemorative photos autographed by players from the current team. Compared to the first two matches, in the third match, new head coach Pekka Tirkkonen of Finland tested third-choice goaltender Michał Kieler, who performed admirably and finished the match with a clean sheet.
- The team helped me a lot, the guys played with dedication, and we played well both in front and behind - said the goalkeeper after the match, recognized as the best player of the match, in which the only goal was scored by Paweł Zygmunt, showing off a spectacular run and an effective shot. After the final siren, the fans thanked the Polish hockey players for their performance on their feet.
