Grbić made a key decision ahead of the World Cup. Urgent announcement regarding the Polish national team.

The most important tournament of the season for Polish volleyball players, the World Championships in the Philippines , is fast approaching. Nikola Grbić's team is considered one of the favorites for a medal.
Men's Volleyball World Championships. Who will the Poles play against?None of the opponents in the first stage of the tournament should pose any problems for Poland. The team will begin their campaign against Romania (September 13th). Two days later, Poland will face Qatar . The group stage will conclude on September 17th with a match against the Netherlands .
After advancing to the 1/8 finals, which seems almost certain, the Polish volleyball players will face one of the teams from Group G, which includes Türkiye, Libya, Canada and Japan.
Grbić faces a difficult decision. Who will go to the World Cup?The most important question in the final stage of the national team's preparations is who will be in the "fourteen" that will fly to the Philippines.
On August 16, the coach decided to dispel some doubts. Nikola Grbić announced that he had decided to narrow the group training in Zakopane to 16 players.
Two volleyball players have lost their dreams of competing in the World Championships. Striker Bartosz Bołądź and center Mateusz Poręba will not participate in further preparations.
"I would like to thank Bartek and Mateusz for the months of work we've spent together. I greatly appreciate their contribution and commitment in the first part of the season, which resulted in a gold medal in the Volleyball Nations League," emphasized the national team coach.
The coach's decision shouldn't have surprised anyone. Bartosz Bołądź regularly lost out to Kewin Sasak for a starting spot, and Mateusz Poręba had to make way for Jakub Nowak and Szymon Jakubiszak.
However, the Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS) informed that both players remain at the coach’s disposal in the event of an injury to one of the players.
Is Bartosz Kurek returning to the national team? The removal of the former PGE Projekt Warszawa player and last year's Olympic runner-up from the list means that Bartosz Kurek's participation in the tournament is almost one hundred percent certain.
The captain of the Polish team did not take part in, among others, the Nations League in Gdańsk due to back pain, which made it difficult for him to train normally.
The volleyball players will remain at their training camp in Zakopane for another week. Nikola Grbić's players will then travel to Krakow, where they will participate in the Wagner Memorial on August 29-21. Before the World Championships, the players face one more test: a friendly match against Brazil.
