New benefit for people with disabilities. Deadline has passed.

On TVN24, the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, announced that the bill on personal assistance for people with disabilities will be submitted to the Sejm in the fall.
" Personal assistance is included in the coalition agreement. And as I said—I said it not only on my own behalf, but also on behalf of the government—this bill will be submitted to the Sejm in the fall . It has already been referred to the Standing Committee (of the Council of Ministers), " she emphasized.
Following the protest of people with disabilities in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister on Tuesday, August 5, demanding the adoption of the Personal Assistance Act, Minister Dziemianowicz-Bąk announced that the government bill on this matter is:
- ready,
- consulted,
- corrected.
The Ministry of Family's project has been available on the Government Legislation Centre's website since December 2024. The proposal, prepared in the office of the Deputy Minister and Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled Persons, Łukasz Krasoń, assumes that a person with disabilities aged 13 to 65 will be able to use the services of a personal assistant free of charge , while the monthly number of assistance hours and the scope of support are to be determined individually by a team appointed for this purpose.
Currently, assistance services are provided by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy as part of temporary programs targeted at local governments and non-governmental organizations. There is no systematic regulation of these services to ensure that everyone in need has access to them.
The Sejm is also considering the presidential bill on personal assistance for people with disabilities, which was referred to the Social Policy and Family Committee in October 2024. According to President Andrzej Duda's proposal, the service would be available in every district for people over 18 years of age and would be financed from the state budget. The bill envisages 40 to 200 hours of personal assistance per month.
The chairwoman of the Sejm’s Social Policy and Family Committee, Katarzyna Ueberhan (Left), announced that this bill would be considered at the September session of the Sejm.
At the end of July, in an interview for TVN24, Prime Minister Donald Tusk raised the issue of the government project on personal assistance .
"There's a draft law on assistance. We'll introduce it if we get a majority in parliament. We'll be cautious. These assistance-related payments should appear in 2027. I'm trying to approach this responsibly, but let's remember that one of the first decisions was to supplement the social pension. It was a citizens' initiative, and it's an additional 2,500 złoty for a disabled person and their caregiver," he said.
