PLN 500 per day for being late. An avalanche of applications in offices

- Property owners submit applications to municipalities for the issuance of development conditions.
- Officials fear the consequences of delays in processing cases.
- For each day of delay there is a risk of high fines – up to 500 PLN.
As we wrote, President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the act extending the deadline for local governments to prepare general plans until 30 June 2026 .
This solution is to enable municipalities to complete the preparation of general plans without suspending the adoption of local plans and the issuance of decisions on development conditions - we explained in WNP.
Let us recall that soon the adoption of local spatial development plans and the issuing of decisions on development conditions will only be possible when a general plan has entered into force in a given commune.
- Due to this, property owners have been rushing to apply for the issuance of development conditions in accordance with the existing rules.
- Thanks to this, in the future they will not have problems building houses on their plots.
- Those who do not make it may have a problem if it turns out that the commune's decision will make it impossible to construct buildings in their area.
As the website prawo.pl notes, in many communes the increase in the number of applications for development conditions compared to previous years reaches 100 percent or more.
Grzegorz Kmiecik, deputy head of the urban planning and spatial planning department at the Łask City Hall, emphasizes that local governments are trying to save the situation by looking for appropriate people or even outsourcing the preparation of decision proposals.
The rates reach up to PLN 500 for a single Wuzetka, and in large cities they are probably even higher - he explains.
Failure to meet the deadline for issuing development conditions may result in a fine of PLN 500 for each day of delay.
