PGE stock price hits multi-year highs
Driven by very good quarterly results and a generally positive attitude towards the energy sector in recent days, PGE's share price set a three-year high on Friday (May 16). The energy group's stock exchange valuation exceeded PLN 22 billion.
Strong growth in the energy sector, PGE's stock prices at peaksIn May 2025, out of 10 sessions so far, only three ended with PGE price drops, and Friday's (May 16) is forecasting the highest increases in a long time. In the initial phase of the session, the shares of Polska Grupa Energetyczna are up by over 9 percent, which places the company at the forefront of the growth rate on the WSE.
Thus, the valuation of one PGE share reached PLN 9.9, which is the highest level since mid-2022. Year-to-date, PGE shares are already valued 60 percent higher.
Not only the share valuation is record-breaking, but also the first quarter resultsThe PGE Group estimates that in the first quarter of 2025 it had PLN 4.33 billion of recurring EBITDA (operating profit plus depreciation and amortization costs) and PLN 2.42 billion of net profit of the parent entity.
- For the first time in the company's history, we are ending the first quarter of the financial year with an EBITDA result above PLN 4 billion. The basis for the increase by PLN 1.8 billion year-on-year is the consistent implementation of investments building the group's value for shareholders - commented on PGE's quarterly results on social media, Dariusz Marzec, the company's president.
He added that the consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company amounted to approximately PLN 2.42 billion, or PLN 1.08 per share.
