He was offered a quick profit on the Internet. He lost almost 150 thousand PLN

A 60-year-old resident of Lubaczów County was defrauded of PLN 147,000 by a fake financial advisor. He fell for the lure of quick profits on... an online stock exchange. This turned out to be fictitious.

The man was lured by a fake financial advisor who contacted him via a social networking site. Convinced to invest money on a supposed online stock exchange, he made deposits at an ATM in the amount of PLN 147,000. However, he quickly realized that he had been cheated and the money was gone. On Tuesday, May 6, the 60-year-old reported this fact to the Lubaczów police department.

The local police department appeals to internet users to be sensible and always check all financial offers.

"Let's also remember not to share our bank account and login details with anyone. If a person posing as a bank employee demands verification of our data and account details or installation of any software, let's hang up and call the bank's customer service office. If the "consultant" suggests installing software such as AnyDesk, we can be sure that it is a scam," the police warn against attempted fraud.
