The topic of the terrible condition of the Przeworsk PKS bus station has been discussed many times in our pages recently, as well as the issues standing in the way of restoring its image to normality. The Przeworsk district authorities finally have good news for passengers in this matter.
We have dealt with the Przeworsk PKS station at least several times in recent months, including after interventions by Piotr Filipowicz, the chairman of the Board of Housing Estate No. 5 in Przeworsk. The facility managed by PKS Jarosław is under conservation care due to the fact that it is located on the premises of the Jewish Cemetery, founded in the 18th century and devastated during World War II. The negative opinion of the Rabbinical Commission for Cemeteries in Warsaw regarding the overall renovation and reconstruction of the station depot, planned by the Jarosław PKS, forced the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments to reject these intentions. The battle for the station renovation was intensively joined by the Przeworsk starost Dariusz Łapa, who submitted to the local government of the Jarosław district with a proposal to transfer the PKS station in Przeworsk to the Przeworsk district. An official application in this matter was also submitted to the Jarosław District Council. As we have already informed, the District Building Inspector for Przeworsk County, in connection with numerous signals from residents, has also initiated an inspection procedure regarding the condition of the Przeworsk train station. The effects of the inspection are to be translated into specific actions.
[middle1]“As a result of the inspection carried out by the District Building Inspectorate, with the participation of the monument protection inspector, we obtained permission to carry out the first, very much needed works,” informed the Przeworsk starosty.
This means specific changes for the better in the form of: elimination of electrical boxes, demolition of the remains of the foundations of the former kiosks protruding above the ground level and concrete edges (to the level of the existing pavement slabs), making a new bituminous surface on the existing substrate, but also planting greenery in the place of the demolished commercial buildings.
