Fluminense knocked out Internazionale at the Club World Cup in the United States. In Charlotte, the Brazilian club from Rio de Janeiro won 2-0 against the Milanese, where Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij had a starting place.

Fluminense will face the winner of the match between English side Manchester City and Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals.

Germán Cano put Fluminense ahead in the 3rd minute. The Brazilian club then had good chances and a goal was disallowed for offside.

Inter, where coach Cristian Chivu Dumfries made a substitution early after the break, had to come into the second half. De Vrij had a good chance halfway through the second half. Lautaro Martínez also came close to scoring, but Inter did not score, partly due to interventions by goalkeeper Fábio. Hércules made it 2-0 in extra time.
