American Jorgenson to stay with Visma for four more years - Lease a Bike

American cyclist Matteo Jorgenson has extended his contract with Dutch cycling team Visma - Lease a Bike on the eve of the Tour de France. Jorgenson will stay until at least 2029, the team announced in a press release.
The 25-year-old American is in his second season with Visma - Lease a Bike. He won Paris-Nice, Dwars door Vlaanderen and finished eighth in the Tour last year. This year Jorgenson won Paris-Nice again.
"Winning Paris-Nice twice is something that seemed impossible to me before I joined the team. It has made me re-evaluate my goals and ambitions and dare to dream bigger," the rider said. "I don't see any other team where I can work with the same confidence and calm as here."
"Matteo is an important link for both the Grand Tours and Classics for our team. We have big plans for him and are happy that he has committed his future to us for a long time," said race manager Grischa Niermann.
