It's an incentive for the World Cup: Raúl Jiménez

After scoring one of the goals that helped Mexico win the Gold Cup, Mexican national team forward Raúl Jiménez said that winning the region's most important championship is a significant incentive ahead of the World Cup.

"Winning the Gold Cup is always an added incentive for the World Cup; finishing the summer before the World Cup with a win, lifting the Cup, is going to be incredibly important for our upcoming matches, both friendlies and the World Cup," he said.

In the end, he acknowledged that they had improved throughout the tournament , highlighting that in this final they managed to maintain their advantage after taking the lead on the scoreboard.

"Throughout the Gold Cup, we've been improving, but today we were able to maintain that lead, and we're very happy to be finishing a month of training camp with the title ."
