Chivas enters the 2025 Apertura with an unbeaten streak in debuts since 2021.

After not having participated in matchday 1 , Club Deportivo Guadalajara is ready for its debut in the 2025 Apertura , and they will do so with encouraging statistics in their favor: they have not lost on an opening matchday for seven tournaments.

The red-and-white team will debut next Saturday, July 19th at 7:00 PM against León , in a match that will mark the beginning of a new era under the command of Argentine Gabriel Milito . Although the Rebaño has had its ups and downs in recent competitions, at least in the beginning it has managed to get positive results.

Since the 2021 Apertura , when they fell to Atlético de San Luis , Chivas has managed to remain undefeated in their opening matches: three draws and four wins in the last seven tournaments, a streak they will look to extend this weekend.

In fact, the aforementioned defeat is the only one they have recorded in the ten most recent tournaments, since they previously began their journey in the 2021 Clausura and 2020 Apertura with a draw against Puebla and León , respectively.

However, such a positive streak early in the season hasn't translated into successful tournaments. Chivas' best performance was in the 2023 Clausura, when they debuted against Monterrey with a victory and ultimately reached the final, which they lost to Tigres.

In four of the last ten tournaments, they were eliminated in the playoffs and in two they fell victim to Puebla; while they managed to qualify for the semifinals of the 2020 Apertura and 2024 Clausura , but were defeated by León and América.

Meanwhile, in the 2022 Clausura, after a tournament of irregularities, they were able to obtain their ticket to the Liguilla, but succumbed in the Quarterfinals against Atlas and in the 2025 Clausura they beat Santos in their debut, but their performance was so bad that they did not even qualify for the Play-In .
