Iga settles into the Top 3

Iga Swiatek's Wimbledon title moved her up to number three in the WTA rankings as of Monday. Her runner-up finish also saw American Amanda Anisimova enter the Top 10 for the first time, reaching number seven.
A year ago, Anisimova was ranked 189th and was denied automatic entry into the tournament at the All England Club.
She attempted to qualify, but lost. This year, Anisimova was seeded at Wimbledon and reached her first Grand Slam final, defeating world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals before losing 6-0, 6-0 to Swiatek.
“I look at it and think, 'Oh, wow.' At first, it's a bit of a shock, and I can't really process it. Then it's like, 'Oh, yeah, I've played really well so far this year,' so it makes sense. I feel like I'm seeing it from both sides,” Anisimova said.
He moved up from number 12.
“I mean, it’s super special and a surreal feeling to be in the Top 10,” she added. “If I had told myself last year, if someone had told me I’d be breaking into the Top 10 now, I don’t know, it would have been pretty surprising to me considering where I was last summer.”
Swiatek was number one for most of the past three seasons, but a year without reaching a final saw her drop to eighth last month. She climbed to fourth by reaching a grass-court final before Wimbledon and is now one spot higher after claiming her sixth major trophy.
Sabalenka remained at the top of the women's rankings, followed by French Open champion Coco Gauff, who lost in the first round at Wimbledon. — AP
