Pedro Sánchez will appear before the Senate's Koldo Commission on October 30.

The PP spokesperson in the Senate, Alicia García, has announced that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's appearance before the commission of inquiry into all the ramifications of the "Koldo case" will take place on Thursday, October 30, at 9:00 a.m.
This was announced by the PP leader at a press conference in the Senate before it was ratified by the Bureau of the Commission of Inquiry , the body responsible for organizing the work of this forum and in which the PP holds an absolute majority.
In this way, the Popular Party (PP) puts an end to the uncertainty surrounding the specific day the Prime Minister will be questioned in the Senate. The PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, announced last week that he would be summoned to the commission of inquiry during the month of October, but the date chosen for this appearance was unknown until today.
However, the PP has warned Sánchez that he has a legal obligation to go before the Senate's investigative committee, while also beginning to spread the idea that it will not rule out exploring possible legal action if the Prime Minister "lies untruthfully" in this forum, reports Europa Press.
" Sánchez will have to give his explanations in the Senate, in full view of the press . Here, in front of all of Spain, he will have to answer for what he has done, for what he has allowed, and for what he has covered up," Alicia García proclaimed.
This committee, which has been working for over a year and a half, has already held nearly 90 appearances, including those of ministers Ángel Víctor Torres (summoned three times), Fernando Grande-Marlaska, María Jesús Montero, Luis Planas, and Elma Saiz. Other speakers have been former minister José Luis Ábalos and the former minister and current president of the Generalitat (Catalan government), Salvador Illa, as well as the Speaker of Parliament and former president of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, among others.
It remains unclear who from the People's Party (PP) will be responsible for questioning Sánchez during this appearance, although the PP spokesperson in the Upper House, Alicia García, has already confirmed that she has no intention of doing so and will leave it to the members of this forum.
The members of the PP in this investigation commission are Alejo Joaquín de Miranda, Ana Beltrán, Francisco Bernabé, Gerardo Camps, Rocío Divar, Salvador de Foronda, Miguel Ángel Jerez, Fernando Martínez-Maíllo, José Antonio Monago, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, Luis Santamaría, Juan Sanz Vitorio, Alfonso Serrano and Antonio Silván.
Also on the committee's board are the Popular Party members Eloy Suárez, José Manuel Balseiro, and Inmaculada Hernández.
Second sitting president to appearPedro Sánchez will be the second acting Prime Minister to appear before a commission of inquiry of the Cortes Generales.
Before Sánchez , the socialist José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero sat on the Congressional commission of inquiry into the March 11 attacks on December 13, 2004, while he was Prime Minister at the time.
Former prime ministers José María Aznar and Mariano Rajoy were also summoned to inquiry committees, but both as former presidents . Aznar appeared before the March 11th committee on November 29, 2004, and also appeared before the committee investigating the alleged illegal financing of the People's Party (PP) on September 18, 2018. Rajoy, for his part, was summoned this March to the committee on "Operation Catalonia" in Congress.
