Cristina sentenced: La Cámpora raises the stakes, puts pressure on the judges, and assures that "whatever happens," they will march on Comodoro Py.

"Argentina with Cristina" is the name adopted by Kirchnerism to launch the call to march this Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m. , to the Comodoro Py courts in support of the former president when she is notified by the judges of her six-year prison sentence and the conditions of her detention. This sentence is expected to be replicated in cities throughout the interior with street closures and other mobilizations. Meanwhile, the government is finalizing details of the security operation amid fears of incidents.
Ultimately, it will be a show of strength within Peronism by the faction supporting the former president for a subsequent internal dispute, for example, with the group that Axel Kicillof hopes to lead—those close to the Buenos Aires governor have anticipated that they will be part of the march and have strongly questioned the court ruling—but it will also be a way to denounce "on the streets" a sort of proscription against the former president.
The march will start at 10 a.m. from the corner of San José and San Juan , near Cristina's apartment, and it is expected that the bulk of the mobilization will accompany the Federal Police custody vehicle that will transport the former president to the Retiro courts .
"We will walk with Cristina to Comodoro Py and return with her to her home," the announcement reads, implying, in a warning tone, that they will not allow the courts to decide on the former senator's transfer to a mayor's office until the conditions of her detention are fully substantiated.
"We're going and coming back with her . That's what everyone who wants to accompany her, both in an organized and unorganized way, knows: we're going to Comodoro Py to accompany her to complete the necessary procedures, and we're returning with her to her home to continue being with the person who has always been with the people," explained the mayor of Quilmes, Mayra Mendoza, of La Cámpora.
Máximo Kirchner, meanwhile, led an event this Monday at the PJ headquarters, at Matheu 130, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Plaza de Mayo bombing, in a panel composed of Jorge "Topo" Devoto , biographer of the late Néstor Kirchner.
He once again took the opportunity to take a stand on his mother's conviction and, like other K-list leaders, to attack Mauricio Macri, who had welcomed the Court's ruling last Tuesday in a post on social media.
"All due process guarantees have been violated . We never asked for an end to the investigation, only for impartial judges, not Macri's friends who were playing the former president's game," declared the leader of La Cámpora.
This Tuesday, meanwhile, a "logistical" meeting for the mobilization will be held at the same party headquarters, with the participation of CGT representatives and Peronist governors who support the march,
The Justice Department, meanwhile, has asked the government to guarantee the security of the proceedings scheduled for this Wednesday. The Second Federal Oral Court (TOF 2) sent a letter to the secretary general of the Court of Cassation requesting that, between Tuesday and Wednesday, when Cristina Kirchner and the other eight convicted in the Highways case appear at Comodoro Py to be notified and detained, "sufficient security" be guaranteed inside and around the building. The letter was forwarded to the Ministry of National Security.
It is precisely in the ministry headed by Patricia Bullrich that they are planning, in the strictest secrecy, the operation to prevent any possible overflows in the announced mobilization.
This Monday morning, in fact, a meeting was held between security authorities, chaired by Bullrich, in which the main points of an operation that the government is handling with enormous secrecy were outlined.
Initially, federal forces are expected to monitor strategic areas such as the entrances to Plaza de Mayo and Comodoro Py. The entire stretch of 9 de Julio Avenue, for example, will be covered by City Police officers.
As in other large demonstrations, the anti-picket protocol will not be applied , and instead, security forces will attempt to contain the columns accompanying the former president to the Retiro courts.
