Aliança Catalana trains its candidates and local cadres in Tortosa

This Saturday, the Catalan Alliance held a training session in Tortosa (Baix Ebre) to prepare future candidates for Sílvia Orriols' party in the 2027 municipal elections. The goal is to give political substance to the discourse of its members, trying to connect everyone to the same wavelength, and, at the same time, equipping them with public speaking skills.

According to party sources, around 200 people who had pre-registered gathered at the hotel they had reserved for the event. The event began with a speech by the party's leader, the MP and mayor of Ripoll, who arrived accompanied by the party's leadership and founding core, to the soundtrack of Gladiator , featuring Oriol Ges, Jordi Aragonès, Jordi Coma, and Lluís Areny, among others.

The event was open to both local training cadres and supporters who had signed up. In his speech, with the slogan "Prou inmigració ilegal" in the background, Orriols welcomed the growing number of people attending the training school, which is holding its second edition after the first one held in April in Platja d'Aro (Baix Empordà). He also welcomed the fact that a project that began "modestly" in Ripoll is "advancing, prospering, and growing" throughout Catalonia. "We are here to vindicate all of Catalonia. We must not succumb to the centralism of Barcelona," he urged those present.

The choice of Tortosa is not trivial, as the leader acknowledged, accusing the administrations and other parties of "Barcelona centralism" and of having "abandoned" that part of Catalonia. She emphasized that it is not the fault of the citizens of Barcelona and called on her supporters to "converge" around her political project, regardless of their origins. One of the points discussed at the training session was about "the role of the Ebro River within the Catalan nation and the political scenarios that are opening up."

The conference program also featured a presentation on "the relationship between Israel and Catalonia and how to clearly and publicly explain the importance of this bond." The conflict between Israel and Palestine was described as a dichotomy "between civilization and barbarism." Aragonès was responsible for this presentation.

There was also information on "the duties of the councilor and the structure of the administration" and "the relationship between the party's municipal and regional representatives and the local and regional press," among other current issues. The event lasted all day, and although it was held behind closed doors, the xenophobic party promoted some excerpts on social media.
