A former Kirchnerist official calls for the Buenos Aires Police to be decapitated following the scandal involving 24 officers and the libertarian campaign.

Sabina Frederic, who served as Minister of Security during Alberto Fernández's presidency, on Friday backed the Buenos Aires government's decision to remove 24 officers suspected of participating in a political campaign in favor of a candidate from the La Libertad Avanza party and considered it "strange that there has been no institutional action against the provincial police authorities ."
After stating that " what the Justice Department did was correct " in its swift investigation into the anonymous complaint that implicated the group of officers friendly to the new candidate for deputy, Maximiliano Bondarenko , the former official pointed out that "if 24 police officers work for one candidate and this has slipped through the net, it shows that there is a problem in the leadership" of the provincial security force.

" The police cannot engage in politics or unionize," Frederic emphasized this afternoon in an interview with Radio Provincia.
Analyzing the political weight of the situation generated by "an anonymous complaint," the anthropologist and professor noted that "in order to strengthen the governor, I find it problematic to have the current commanders as chief and deputy chief" of the Buenos Aires Police, referring to Javier Carlos Villar and Leandro María Sarlo.
However, he spared Eduardo Javier Alonso, head of the provincial Ministry of Security, from his criticism, stating that "the minister does not lead the police."

Frederic also emphasized that in the case there is "evidence that they tried to turn into proof" and after insisting that "what justice did was correct," he indicated that "one element that allows us to put the situation into perspective is a somewhat marginal police force like the environmental police ; it is not the one that is really exercising" the role of security.
"I'm not saying it's not relevant ; the courts have to investigate this," he added, adding that "it's very important to have a quick response."

On the other hand, he questioned Javier Milei's administration, stating that "we are facing a government that is capable of anything " and warned again that "we must protect Governor Axel Kicillof, who with his Right to a Future Movement seeks to establish himself as a national alternative for 2027.
"It's impossible that the chief and deputy chief didn't see this situation," the accusations attributed to the 24 police officers expelled from the security force for their apparent involvement in the political campaign launched after the libertarian Bondarenko left the institution.

After asking "to what extent institutional leadership must guarantee that," Frederic emphasized that "it's suspicious that the alleged meeting to launch the campaign within the Ecological Police took place in that location."

He made a special mention of his successor, the current Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, whom he considered "unacceptable." He stated that the neolibertarian "is pursuing her own business because she is certainly in a weak position in the government and wants to control the resources provided by Caputo."
Regarding Bullrich, with whom she has had a political feud for years, given that they held office successively between the Macri administration and the Kirchner administration of Alberto Fernández, she said, "She's a serial traitor, someone with a criminal record."
For this reason, she noted, "Milei's government also distrusts her and wants to move her to a legislative position " with a possible candidacy for national senator.
