The Sagre d'Italia journey begins, amidst flavors and traditions.

A journey through flavours, traditions and territories that start from Calabria and Basilicata and then continue in Emilia Romagna, Sardinia, and Lombardy. Sagre will propose it of Italy, broadcast on Food Network from November 12th at 10pm, every Wednesday for the first five episodes. The new program created in collaboration with Unpli, takes viewers on a journey to discover recipes and traditions of Italy's small villages. Leading this journey through regions and popular festivals are Giusina Battaglia and Antonino La Spina, president of Unpli. The protagonists of the program are the quality festivals, "events that safeguard popular culture and typical local products" is explained in a note. The first two episodes are dedicated to Calabria and Basilicata, "lands that combine sea and traditions in a tale of colours and perfumes". The public will be brought to Campora San Giovanni, in on the occasion of the Red Onion Festival, and in Bagnara Calabra, where the Swordfish Grand Gala is celebrated every year: "two events that symbolize the passion and identity of food and wine Calabrian" is emphasized. In Basilicata the story will be told Sarconi PGI Bean Festival and Pecorino Cheese Festival Canestrato di Moliterno PGI. We will then continue with three more regions, from Emilia Romagna to Sardinia to Lombardy, for the first five episodes of the format. From north to south, the journey of Giusina Battaglia and Antonino La Spina will cross all of Italy.
