Palermo loses to Udinese in the Coppa Italia, 2-1, eliminating the Rosanero.

Palermo's Coppa Italia campaign ended in the round of 32: at the Bluenergy Stadium, the Rosanero lost 2-1 to Udinese, who advanced to the round of 16 to face Juventus. Palermo fought hard in the match, but paid dearly for a lapse in concentration in the key minutes of the first half.

Inzaghi's team started with good intensity, creating threats, especially with Corona, but without finding the net. In the 41st minute, Zaniolo broke the deadlock with a deflected long-range shot, while in the 45th minute, Miller doubled the lead, capitalizing on Giovane's error coming out and Joronen's short parry. These two strikes took the Rosanero's legs out of control and turned the game around.

In the second half, Inzaghi attempted to shake up his team with the substitutions of Palumbo, Ranocchia, Augello, Segre, and Brunori, but was unable to make any impact. Udinese continued to threaten, managing their two-goal lead and coming close to a third goal several times. Only in added time did Peda score a consolation goal, closing the gap and making the final score 2-1.

Palermo leaves the Coppa Italia knowing they played a strong performance, but lacked consistency in key moments. Now, the team's full attention will shift to the league, the season's true objective.
