Amazon: Italian SME exports to reach €1.2 billion in 2024

The 20,000 small and medium-sized enterprises Italian women selling on Amazon generated more than in 2024 1.2 billion euros of sales abroad, of which more than 1.1 billion made in Europe. Over 65% of these small and medium-sized companies have in fact taken their products out of the national borders, while more than 9,000 companies, equal to over 45% are located in rural or low density areas population. Last year, 6,000 SMEs came from these areas they recorded 500 million euros in foreign sales. The most virtuous regions in terms of export value are Lombardy, Campania, Lazio, Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, while Germany, France, the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain are the leading markets main ones. This is what emerges from the new report on the Impact economic impact of Italian SMEs selling on Amazon, presented on the occasion of the event 'Around the world in 10 years of Amazon's Made in Italy showcase. Launched on October 5, 2015, the showcase today brings together over 5,500 companies, with more than 3 millions of products available in eleven countries and 18 routes regional. Since 2019 the initiative has benefited from the collaboration with ICE Agency, which has so far involved over 2,800 SMEs and brought more than 700,000 new products made in Italy online.
