European stocks rise, Wall Street uncertain

Wall Street slows after a cautious start to the rise despite signs of a potential easing of global trade tensions. European stock markets close the session in positive territory: Milan +1.02, London +0.27%, Paris +0.64%, Frankfurt +0.63%.
Bank stocks in the spotlight at Piazza Affari: Mediobanca +5.40%, Bper +3.24%, Mps +1.5% after the accounts.
Saipem also up +3.8%. Leonardo and Campari are down, Brent oil rises above 63.5 dollars a barrel. Spread at 106 basis points, 10-year BTP yield at 3.60%
President Donald Trump said an 80% tariff on China "seems appropriate" ahead of trade talks between Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese counterparts in Switzerland over the weekend. But markets were disappointed after earlier reports suggested the tariff could be reduced to less than 60%.
