Deloitte inaugurates new headquarters in Bari: 1,700 hires in the technological hub for digital transition

A total investment of 75 million euros for a new headquarters, already a point of reference to support the digital transition of the South and the entire country system: it is from these premises that Deloitte inaugurated the new headquarters in Bari at the Fiera del Levante , the result of a 50 million investment for the renovation of the pavilions and the creation of a research and development center within NextHub , the technological hub dedicated to innovation and technology.
Deloitte has also chosen to make a further investment of 25 million with the aim of establishing the “ GenAI Center for Business Innovation ” in the Apulian territory, a technological hub composed of over 70 artificial intelligence experts dedicated to the transformation of the main business processes of companies. Among the application areas: energy and environment, advanced mechanics, electronics and automation, Space Economy, building redevelopment, cybersecurity and logistics, cultural industry and tourism.
“The inauguration of the Bari office is just the latest step in a long journey that began in 1999 with the opening of the first offices,” said Fabio Pompei , CEO of Deloitte Italia, “Our investments demonstrate the centrality that Bari plays in the network strategy and our desire to generate shared value in a territory with extraordinary potential, in synergy with institutions, the academic world and local authorities. Our innovation hub aims to accompany Italian and Southern Italian companies in the challenge of digital transition and artificial intelligence, encouraging the growth of young talents with a focus on the skills that will be essential to overcome the challenges of the future.”
After inaugurating the new offices in Milan and Rome in recent months, Deloitte has invested in the renovation of the new headquarters in Bari guided by cutting-edge criteria in terms of environmental sustainability , combining tradition and innovation. Historical elements, such as the original vaults of the building, have been preserved, integrating them with latest-generation technologies designed to improve the work experience and well-being of people.
Furthermore, the investment for the renovation was made on a public property and revitalized an area of the city of Bari in what has always been a global exhibition center for economic progress and innovation, such as the Fiera del Levante. In addition, part of the headquarters is intended to benefit the community as it is made available to the business incubator, with the aim of stimulating the growth of new entrepreneurial realities in logistics and sustainable mobility as well as in the space economy so that they can position themselves on the market and increase competitiveness.
The research and development center focuses on several strategic business areas : an advanced technological solution to optimize the efficiency of the entire agri-food supply chain; an ecosystem dedicated to startups, integrated with artificial intelligence algorithms; an infrastructure for the management and execution of studies in the Health & Biotech field; a virtual environment in the metaverse for real-time monitoring of properties, with particular attention to energy efficiency and the introduction of new services; and, finally, a “Cyber Threat Intelligence” laboratory aimed at defending against cyber threats linked to new technologies.
In the fiscal year just ended, NextHub was the area of the Deloitte Italia network that recorded the greatest growth, with a 60% increase in terms of hiring. Deloitte currently has a total of over 2,000 people in Bari, specifically over 1,700 hired for NextHub, compared to over 14,000 in all of Italy. The goal is to make another 700 hires by May 2026. The most sought-after profiles, both among young people and among the more senior ones, have heterogeneous skills, ranging from STEM fields, such as Artificial Intelligence, GenAI, Cybersecurity, Cloud and Digital Transformation, to functional roles, including Project Management, Finance, M&A and Audit.
