Piaggio Aero, Giovanni Tomassini is the new CEO

The Board of Directors of Baykar Piaggio Aerospace Spa, the new company to which the corporate complexes of Piaggio Aero and Piaggio Aviation in extraordinary administration have been transferred, announces the appointment of the current Chief Operating Officer Giovanni Tomassini as the company's new CEO.

Born in 1964, with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Tomassini joined Piaggio Aerospace in 2009. Previously, he worked at Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali and Aermacchi, the latter company where he held the role of production director.

"Giovanni's appointment represents a choice of continuity and trust in the professionalism of the current management", underlines the CEO of Baykar Haluk Bayraktar , who holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baykar Piaggio Aerospace. "After the years of extraordinary administration, the company can now restart with a new industrial vision, capable of combining the legacy of Piaggio Aerospace with the innovation and skills of Baykar: - he adds - Giovanni's experience will be crucial to make this path concrete and guide the company in a new phase of development and international growth".

The other members of the Board of Directors of Baykar Piaggio Aerospace Spa will be Dris Enyurt (CFO Baykar), Pelin Birol (Production Manager Baykar), Fabrizio Giulianini (aerospace sector manager), Giuseppe Cossiga (president of Aiad) and Çalayan Çetin (president of the Trendyol group , one of the largest Turkish e-commerce platforms).
