Anas: CEO Gemme appointed member of the Cedr governing board

The CEO of Anas (FS Italiane Group) Claudio Andrea Gemme has been appointed Member of the Governing Board of CEDR (Conference of European Directors of Roads) , the highest executive body composed of the Directors and General Directors of the National Road Administrations of the EU countries.
CEDR is a non-profit organisation established on a proposal by Italy in 2003 and is based in Brussels .
The strategic objectives identified by CEDR are to help national road authorities to be at the forefront; to anticipate future trends and prepare to face new challenges; to strengthen the role of national road authorities as key providers of efficient and seamless mobility for the end-user of the transport system; to facilitate and optimise the efficient use of resources by making the best use of existing infrastructure; to improve the safety and sustainability of roads, and to reduce their environmental impact.
“Italy's participation in the CEDR – stated Anas CEO Claudio Andrea Gemme – is of fundamental importance for sharing technical knowledge in the road sector, for harmonising positions on key mobility issues with other EU countries and influencing European policies in the sector”.
The CEDR Governing Board (GB) provides the strategic guidelines and all potential inputs needed for the organization. The activities are organized within a three-year Plan that defines the actions and resources needed. The one in force from 2025 to 2027 was approved during the last meeting of the Governing Board in Antwerp on 17 October 2024. The implementation of the Plan is at the heart of the activities of nine Working Groups: they are based on studies and projects in partnership, networking and technical events such as seminars, workshops, technical-scientific or benchmarking publications.
