Music, an album with unreleased material 30 years after Mia Martini's death

Thirty years ago (May 12, 1995) Mia Martini died, considered one of the best singers of Italian pop music. Hits such as Piccolo uomo, Donna sola, Minuetto, Inno, E stelle stan piovendo, Al mondo, Donna con te, Che vuoi che sia se t'ho aspettato tanto, Per amarti and La costruzione di un amore consecrated her among the protagonists of Italian music in the Seventies, a decade in which she achieved great popularity both nationally and internationally. Among the most significant partnerships, the first with Charles Aznavour, which culminated on January 10, 1978 with a recital at the Olympia in Paris; the second with Ivano Fossati, with whom he established an artistic and sentimental partnership that culminated with the album Danza in 1978. In recent days “ Tarab ” was released, the album with unreleased songs and alternative interpretations of already known songs proposed with new arrangements and with the artistic production of Maurizio Piccoli, in digital, on CD and on double Vinile Crystal (Nar International/Warner Music Italy).

“When Maurizio Piccoli contacted me to ask me to take care of the production of this project, without hesitation I said yes and – says Massimo Massagrande , executive producer – I immediately noticed the commitment of all the people involved in wanting to create a quality project that best expresses the admiration and respect for Mia Martini”. Tarab comes from the Arabic tarabi which means “to get excited”, “to dance” or “to have fun with music”. It is a word that embodies the state of ecstasy that we experience when we listen to music that we really like, that moves us and allows us to detach ourselves from the place where we are, to transport us elsewhere. It is one of the ten words in the world that cannot be translated with a single term in another language, but must be explained using multiple words.
