Seven Convicts Arrested by State Police: Roundup Throughout the Province of Foggia

Seven people definitively convicted but still at liberty have been arrested in recent weeks by the State Police in the province of Foggia. A widespread and targeted operation that involved the Flying Squad and the police stations of Cerignola, Manfredonia and Lucera, as part of a vast information-investigative activity arranged to strengthen the effectiveness of the sanctioning system.

At the center of the counteraction, coordinated by the Foggia Police Headquarters, the search and capture of individuals affected by irrevocable judicial measures. Among these, a 46-year-old man from Foggia, arrested by agents of the Gruppo Falchi della Mobile: he will have to serve 5 years and 6 months for manslaughter and embezzlement , in execution of a prison order issued by the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Bari.

Convictions for serious crimes and house arrest

Also in Foggia, a 34-year-old man, also from Foggia, was placed under house arrest and must serve 3 years and 8 months for crimes against the person . A similar measure was taken by a 20-year-old Albanian citizen, sentenced to 4 years of house arrest for drug-related crimes and illegal possession of weapons .

Two executions were carried out in Cerignola. A 51-year-old was arrested for property crimes , while a 42-year-old will serve a residual sentence of 3 years, 6 months and 15 days in house arrest for aggravated theft, robbery and personal injury .

Measures also in Manfredonia and Lucera

The Manfredonia police station instead notified the revocation of the suspension of the execution of the sentence to a 39-year-old already convicted of property and drug crimes . Finally, in Lucera a definitive order was executed against a 40-year-old criminal , convicted of similar crimes .

The police commissioner's comment

The police commissioner of Foggia expressed satisfaction with the operation, underlining "the particular care that the State Police reserves for the investigative activity aimed at capturing convicted individuals, to guarantee social tranquility and the effectiveness of the punishment".

The operations are part of an operational context that aims not only at the repression of crimes, but also at strengthening citizens' trust in institutions and the judicial system.
