Ranger 2025 is a robot for inspection and disinfection of hostile environments that operates in coordination with rescuers, that is, it operates where rescuers cannot reach and where they could be at risk.
The robot was designed starting from a rough sketch and making the supporting structure in metal and wooden finishes.
It is equipped with four-wheel drive that allows it to move forward even on difficult terrain and an internet camera to facilitate the guidance of the robot.
It is also equipped with a servo-assisted drawer that contains dressing material and a water tank. Another objective is the disinfection of environments, reducing the risk of contamination for operators and rescuers.
The robot is equipped with UV-C lamps with germicidal action capable of killing bacteria, viruses, fungi and spraying disinfectant.
Ranger 2025 also has an inverter capable of transforming the 12v voltage of the batteries into an alternating voltage of 220v for any needs.
The course was coordinated by teachers Fabrizio Fiorentini, Luigi Bargellini, technical assistant Vasco Claudio Castelli, and technician Giammarco Vinciarelli, an external expert and former student of the school, from the Riparonica company.
The Director of Isis Fermi of Bibbiena, Maurizio Librizzi comments: "For years, our school has participated with great satisfaction in national contests of the highest level with the aim of measuring itself with new technologies, bringing our students to confront external worlds and opportunities, working in groups and innovating starting from school. We are very proud of these kids who, even in the public presentation phase of the project, have proven to be very mature, prepared, capable of putting their heart into a path in which they were then rewarded for the idea, the originality especially linked to the theme of disinfection of environments, today of primary importance. I sincerely thank the teachers involved, the external technicians and above all the students involved who make us proud today of this new important result".
Councilor for Public Education Vittoria Valentini comments: “Isis Fermi once again gives us great satisfaction and proves to be a school in step with the times, capable of taking on challenges, measuring itself with current events, promoting innovation even outside our territory. All this makes us extremely proud, but also even more aware of the potential of an internal area school where students are followed in a special way, involved in challenging activities where the formative and educational aspects are both held in high regard”.
