Water network works, pressure reductions in 16 municipalities between Foggia and Avellino

T o allow for technical intervention on the main water network, Acquedotto Pugliese has announced a reduction in water pressure in 16 municipalities between the provinces of Foggia and Avellino . The work is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, and will end at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 , and will involve the installation of a shut-off valve on the pressure line serving the ISI plant in Caposele , in the province of Avellino.

9 municipalities in the Foggia area and 7 in Irpinia involved

The pressure reduction is necessary to safely allow the execution of technical activities on the network, which supplies the southern right Irpino-Molisano water scheme , one of the strategic backbones of the AQP system. The intervention will concern in particular:

Province of Foggia: Panni, Bovino, Deliceto, Accadia, Anzano di Puglia, Sant'Agata di Puglia, Monteleone di Puglia, Rocchetta Sant'Antonio, Candela and the industrial area of ​​Ascoli Satriano.

Province of Avellino: Lacedonia and the industrial area of ​​Calaggio, Bisaccia, Aquilonia, Monteverde, Vallata, Scampitella, Vallesaccarda.

Only buildings without water reserves at risk

Thanks to the interconnection of the systems and the system of tanks provided to Acquedotto Pugliese, a total interruption of the supply will not be necessary: ​​we will proceed with a simple reduction in pressure , which however could generate inconvenience in buildings without an autoclave or with insufficient storage capacity .

The call to citizens: responsible consumption

AQP has invited citizens of the areas involved to rationalize consumption and avoid non-priority uses of water during the affected time window, to minimize the impact of the intervention. "Consumption - the company emphasizes - is a fundamental variable to avoid any inconvenience".

The water carrier in question, which draws approximately 400 litres per second from the sources of the Sele in the Caposele area, represents one of the main backbones of the Southern aqueduct system, serving hundreds of thousands of users between Alta Irpinia and northern Puglia .
