Monster of Florence, hearing postponed for Mario Vanni's request for review of sentence

Florence, May 9, 2025 – Monster of Florence , the hearing for the review of Mario Vanni's conviction has been postponed to June 13. The Attorney General and the Court of Appeal of Genoa have in fact asked for more time to evaluate the documents of the "Compagni di merende " trial, 34 folders delivered from Florence. Despite the postponement, Paolo Vanni , the nephew of the postman from San Casciano, was present in the courtroom and with his lawyers Valter Biscotti and Antonio Mazzeo he has filed a request for review.

The request focuses on an entomological consultancy that places the last double homicide of 1985, which occurred in Scopeti, on Friday evening, rather than Sunday as testified by the other drinking companion Giancarlo Lotti, and some testimonies not evaluated in the trials on the time of the Vicchio crime of July 1984.
