Here is the new Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts Regional Park, a place that will delight outdoor enthusiasts

The new development took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it. A sign at the entrance clearly indicates the new name. The same goes for the website.
The Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts campsite and outdoor center has not only just changed its name, but it is also set to offer more to outdoor enthusiasts.
An accreditation process is also underway with the Association of Regional Parks of Quebec (Parq), which requires mandatory quality and safety standards.
An unknown territoryDespite the popularity of the campsite and Major Beach at Lac des Sables, the area remains unexplored for many people.
When you're at the campsite, you have no idea of the extent of the 60-kilometer network of hiking trails that extends westward, on either side of Petit Lac des Sables, among other places.
The entrances are often discreet and you really have to rely on the map to discover them. However, from the main road, small bridges lead to trails.
The river leading to Lac des Sables is also an inviting place for paddleboarding, kayaking, or pedal boating. A rental center is located near the reception area.
While it's tempting to continue your journey on Lac des Sables, first make sure it's not too windy. Returning to the river then requires more effort and some experience.
Chalets and podsThe park is home to three rustic-style cabins, each sleeping four. There is a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a mezzanine with two single beds accessible by a staircase.
Recovered and restored, the furniture in the living room and kitchen brings a warm character, as does the ceiling crossed by wooden beams.
More compact, the pods, these gite-roofed lodges, are designed to ensure there's no shortage of space. The amenities are essentially the same.
Both types of accommodation do not have TV or Wi-Fi. However, there is a good connection to nature.
