A Rhone resident on the podium of the French Wingsuit Championship


A graduate of the Lyon-Corbas parachuting school in the Rhône region, Marcel Geser won the bronze medal at the French Wingsuit Championship with his teammates Pauline Ravaudet and Ludovic Francois.
At the end of the French Wingsuit Championship, organized by the Grenoble Parachuting School in Isère, Marcel Geser and his teammates Pauline Ravaudet and Ludovic François won the bronze medal. A small source of pride for the Rhône region, since Marcel Geser is a member of the Lyon-Corbas Parachuting School.
The competition allowed enthusiasts to showcase their talent in two events: acrobatics and performance. The first is an artistic discipline consisting of 7 jumps: 4 compulsory jumps of 3 randomly selected sequences and 3 free jumps of technical and aesthetic ease. The team consists of two performers and a videographer. Judging is done by video to award a technical and artistic score, with GPS used to calculate the working time. And the second is an individual event that takes place in 2 rounds of three types of jumps, for a total of 6 jumps. Distance; Horizontal speed; Flight performance between 2,500 meters and 1,500 meters with a start at 3,200 meters. Competitors start, spaced 10 seconds apart, following a flight corridor defined in advance.
