SNCF: Train ticket sales for the winter holidays open this Wednesday, November 12th

The snowy slopes of the Alps, the sun of Provence… It’s time to plan your February holidays! SNCF opens the sale of train tickets for the winter holidays, and more generally for journeys from January 8 to March 29, 2026, this Wednesday, November 12 at dawn.
As every year, in order to support travelers heading towards mountain resorts, SNCF is strengthening its service to the French mountain ranges, with a total of 850 TGV Inoui trains running during the five weekends of school holidays, across all zones (A, B and C).
" This represents a departure every 15 minutes from Paris Gare de Lyon on a Saturday in zone C ," explains the French National Railway Company (SNCF). According to a press release, this is a way for the rail company to "enable (...) a low-carbon mobility approach."
The Tarentaise Valley, for example, will benefit from increased direct TGV Inoui services from Paris. " These additional services, combined with doubling the number of trains on some existing services, will provide 16,000 more seats ," according to SNCF. Between Paris-Gare de Lyon and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, a daily round trip will also be offered by OUIGO, from December 18, 2025 to March 29, 2026, starting at €19.
The Massif Central (Paris-Aurillac), the Alps (Paris-Briançon), and the Pyrenees (Paris-Tarbes, Paris-Latour-de-Carol, and Toulouse-Hendaye) will also be served day and night by Intercités trains. "With its European services, SNCF Voyageurs also serves European mountain ranges towards Switzerland (with TGV Lyria) and Italy (with TGV INOUI to Italy)," adds SNCF.
For the first time, several direct TGV Inoui and OUIGO journeys – the latter already open since November 5 and bookable up to sixty days before departure – can be purchased until July 3, 2026.
This trial primarily concerns connections to Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, and other destinations in the Southeast. It comes as SNCF's competitor, Trenitalia , will offer four daily round trips between Paris and Marseille starting December 14th, with tickets already available until May 2026.
