Opera films to be shown outdoors starting this Monday evening in Entrecasteaux

For the third consecutive year, opera films are taking to the air at Entrecasteaux. The Entrecasteaux International Opera Film Festival (Fifeo) is organizing a free screening of two musicals on a giant screen at the Grand Prè. The meeting place is at the foot of the castle from 7:30 p.m. to watch, from 9 p.m., West Side Story , directed in 2021 by Steven Spielberg. This is the second film adaptation of the musical, which premiered on Broadway in 1957.
The next day, Tuesday, it's the turn of La La Land , directed in 2017 by Damien Chazelle. Same time, same place!
For added comfort, please note that deckchairs and chairs will be provided. You can also bring your own picnic (and a light sweater in case of a chilly evening).
The idea for this event was born in the mind of Christophe Tardieu, the secretary general of France Télévisions. He has retained a certain taste for opera and cinema through his career. Formerly number 2 at the Paris Opera, he was also director of the National Center for Cinematography. "I have experienced too much joy with operas not to want to share this passion," he confided in our columns.
In 2023, for its first edition, the festival brought together around 400 people!
