Booba's judgment for "abusive proceedings" against Magali Berdah expected this Thursday

In an interview in May 2022, Magali Berdah accused rapper Booba of being behind the cyberbullying she was experiencing. The artist subsequently filed a defamation complaint against the influencer before withdrawing it three days before the trial.
"I expect this judgment to be sufficiently firm," Magali Berdah declared this Wednesday. In May 2022, the founder of the influencer agency Shauna Events accused Booba of having launched a wave of cyberbullying against her in an interview with Le Parisien . Following these comments, the rapper filed a complaint against Magali Berdah for defamation.
Less than three days before the trial, which took place on March 7 in Paris, the rapper withdrew his lawsuit . The influencer's lawyers then asked the Paris Criminal Court to convict the rapper of abusive proceedings and demanded 50,000 euros in damages. "Withdrawing three days before... It's too easy," the influencer still denounces today. The decision in this trial for abusive proceedings after withdrawal of defamation is expected this Thursday. It will only be the prequel to this legal standoff between Magali Berdah and Booba.
Indeed, on October 2, 2023, the singer, whose real name is Elie Yaffa, was indicted for aggravated moral harassment against the influencer. A cyberbullying investigation is still ongoing, and no trial date has yet been announced.
"I had to fight not to commit suicide," Magali Berdah declared in court on March 7. Booba's lawyer, Marie Romiantseva, had asked for the opposing party's requests to be rejected, stressing that "the legal action itself is not abusive," "it must degenerate into an abuse of rights," she declared. Contacted by Le Figaro , the criminal lawyer did not respond to our requests.
In May 2022, Booba accused the founder of Shauna Events, an agency specializing in influencer-brand relations, of defrauding her clients. He particularly criticized her for creating videos featuring reality TV stars, promoting expensive products when, according to him, they were of poor quality. "I was indicted for two years. I lived through hell and it had repercussions on my life," she confided this Wednesday.
With 6 million Twitter followers, Booba's post went viral on the social network, and Magali Berdah was the target of a multitude of insults. In March 2024, 28 cyberstalkers appeared before a Paris court, and all were convicted.
