A man on a Segway hits a pavement and dies instantly in the Var region

A dramatic road toll this first weekend of August in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. After three accidents that left seven people seriously injured and required the dispatch of helicopters yesterday , the sad series continues early this morning, Sunday, August 3.

The Var firefighters were dispatched to Saint-Tropez, on the RD 98A, Avenue du Général Leclerc near the Pillon gas station. A 39-year-old man, living in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, who was riding a Segway (motorized unicycle) hit the edge of the road at high speed. Without protection, the fall was unfortunately fatal.

A diversion put in place

Traffic was blocked for a long time, until around 8 a.m., by police. A diversion had been put in place to enter Saint-Tropez. Toxicological analyses are underway to understand the circumstances that could have led to this accident. This tragedy, which this time resulted in a fatal outcome, is the fourth in 24 hours where only the victim(s) was responsible.
