“A good way to plan these types of trips, which have a limited season, is to use a special feature on Kayak's travel calendar. After choosing a destination, travelers can quickly identify the days with the best travel prices using a color-coded system. Days marked in green, for example, represent the most attractive prices, making it easier to decide when to travel even before starting a search,” recommends Alejandro Lombana, Kayak's Latin American sales director.
Some recommendations Although whale watching can be a magical experience, it's also crucial to respect the biodiversity of the region you're visiting. Therefore, it's important to follow some recommendations:

Remember that the boat must maintain a minimum distance of 200 meters. Photo: @bahiamalagacolombia
- Listen to your guide's recommendations. Before starting the adventure, an expert will give you some instructions to keep in mind throughout the tour.
- Keep your distance. Remember that the boat must maintain a distance of at least 200 meters from the whales.
- Please note the established viewing times. This activity is only permitted between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., so plan your time accordingly.
- Reduce your environmental impact. If you're bringing plastics, pack them in your suitcase and, when you return to land, throw them away in designated areas. Don't pollute.
- Don't try to touch the animals. Remember that whales are wild, so touching them can be dangerous and, for their well-being, is not recommended.
