Mauricio Macri criticized the appointment of Manuel Adorni as Chief of Staff instead of Francos.

Former President Mauricio Macri broke his silence this Saturday after his private dinner with President Javier Milei at the Quinta de Olivos and harshly criticized the appointment of Manuel Adorni as Chief of Staff to replace the resigning Guillermo Francos.
In addition to describing the spokesperson as an "inexperienced" official to head the Cabinet, he nominated Horacio Marín, the president of YPF, as his replacement . Macri also clarified: "I have not asked for, nor will I ask for, anything in my personal capacity."
In a text he published in X after 7 p.m., the head of PRO commented that he was in Olivos invited by Javier Milei "in gratitude for the support I gave him in the most difficult week of his government before the elections" and revealed that they talked "about pending issues" such as "strengthening the teams and preparing for this second stage, but we were unable to reach an agreement."
Referring to the resignation of Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos , which was announced on social media right in the middle of his meeting in Olivos, Macri lamented his departure because, he said, he is " a man with ability and balance" who "represented common sense for the citizens."

"As I mentioned, there was the possibility of replacing Francos with another suitable person from his team, with a more technical profile and greater ability to lead and coordinate teams, such as Horacio Marín, the current president of YPF, who meets all the requirements due to his previous experience," he warned.
Yesterday, President Milei invited me to lunch in Olivos, as a thank you for the support I gave him during the most difficult week of his administration before the elections. During the meeting, we discussed pending issues. The idea was to consider the best way to strengthen the teams and…

Macri emphasized that " the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers is an essential figure: he coordinates the political and management teams around an agenda and a strategy" and maintained that "this decision, which I consider misguided, is compounded by the lack of resolution of the well-known internal disputes within the government, which are key to the roadmap for the future."
" I regret this situation because, after the effort made, the revalidation of the people at the polls and the unprecedented support of the United States, the country is facing a historic opportunity that it cannot miss," he added.
He also stated that "as the president has said publicly, I have not asked for anything and will not ask for anything in a personal capacity, but I feel obliged to make my contribution and express my concerns because we are united by the future of the country."
Manuel Adorni and Mauricio MacriGuillermo Francos had been a key liaison in facilitating the resumption of dialogue between Milei and Macri a month ago, following the ruling party's defeat in the Buenos Aires provincial elections. In fact, the first communication in a year between the current president and the former president was preceded by a photo opportunity between the now former Chief of Staff and the president of the PRO party. This took place on September 25th, at a celebration of the 95th anniversary of the historic unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Francos was pushing to deepen the dialogue with Macri. "Our sector is grateful to him because he and his legislators supported us during our time in Congress. It was a greeting, and we commented on the importance of US support during this volatile time for Argentina," the former Interior Minister said at the time.

He did not join them on Friday night for the dinner where Macri learned of the cabinet changes and Adorni's arrival.
At the end of that second meeting, Milei also highlighted that he and Macri ("The President," he called him) had agreed "to work together, starting on October 27," the day after the national elections, "to build the necessary consensus that will allow us to move forward with the structural reforms that our country needs to become great again."
On the other hand, the message Mauricio Macri posted Saturday afternoon exposed Adorni . Just hours earlier, in a radio interview, the current presidential spokesperson had said that "meetings between Milei and Macri are usually like meetings between friends."
"There are issues that remain between them and others that the President addresses," Adorni said on Radio Mitre . "The President briefed him on the details of Thursday's meeting with the governors, informing him of the positive attitude the entire cabinet observed while listening to the governors regarding the reforms," he added.
After saying that Milei explained to him the need to address key reforms in extraordinary sessions, Adorni emphasized: "The meeting lasted about an hour and 45 minutes. Always on excellent terms, they have a relationship of affection that goes beyond politics."
A statement different from the tone of Mauricio Macri's message, whom Adorni once described as "a friend with whom Milei eats milanesas every now and then."
