SAT: The 10 most requested procedures by Mexicans in 2025

The Tax Administration Service (SAT) remains one of the most consulted institutions by Mexican taxpayers. In 2025, users have focused their attention on key procedures ranging from RFC registration to e-signature renewal, reflecting the importance of digital tax life.
According to official figures and data released by Debate, the 10 most in-demand procedures in 2025 are:
- RFC registration – essential for starting work or business activities.
- Password recovery – due to frequently forgotten passwords.
- Renewal or processing of e-signature – essential for signing documents and filing returns.
- Obtaining a Tax Status Certificate – required by employers and banks.
- Annual declaration for individuals – mandatory every April.
- Issuance of electronic invoices (CFDI) – through the free SAT portal.
- Tax refund request – automatically or manually.
- Updating RFC data – necessary for changes of address, regime, or economic activity.
- Activation of the Tax Mailbox – the official communication channel between taxpayers and the tax authorities.
- Registration of employees by employers – generates frequent queries from employees.
Between January and May 2025, more than 3.3 million e-signature applications were completed, a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. Regarding RFC registrations, 898,839 were recorded, of which 860,357 corresponded to individuals and 38,482 to legal entities .
The SAT indicated that approximately 89% of demand is concentrated in five services for individuals, including RFC registration, e-signatures, and data updates.
Experts emphasize that digitalization has made these procedures easier to complete, although challenges remain related to appointment overcrowding and the need to improve in-person service at SAT offices.
With this data, it's clear that RFC registration and e-signature remain the most important procedures for Mexicans' tax returns in 2025.
