IMSS and ISSSTE: Everything you need to know about the 2025 Christmas bonus and October pension payments.

The 2025 Christmas bonus for pensioners of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) has already been set according to the official calendars of both institutions. This annual payment is an inalienable right and represents a very important additional income for millions of older adults in Mexico.

In the case of the IMSS , pensioners under Law 73 will receive their Christmas bonus, equivalent to one month's pension, on Monday, November 3, 2025 , along with that month's pension. It is important to note that pensioners under the law in force since July 1, 1997, do not receive this benefit .

At ISSSTE , the Christmas bonus is delivered in two installments. The first half will arrive during the first half of November , while the second will be deposited on January 2, 2026 , along with the first payment of the year. This scheme allows retirees to have extra income for both the December holidays and the start of the new year.

Which adults would be excluded from paying the IMSS Pension?

Regarding October pensions, the IMSS will make the deposit on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 , maintaining its usual payment schedule during the first business days of the month, with no advances or changes.

Instead, ISSSTE will advance the October payment to Tuesday, September 30 , ensuring that retirees have access to the money before the month begins.
