Edeka, Netto, Kaufland: Well-known salami recalled due to gastrointestinal bacteria

Salami recall at Edeka, Netto, and Kaufland: E. coli bacteria found. Consumers should not eat affected products and return them to the store.
Franz Wiltmann GmbH & Co. KG is recalling its "Wiltmann Pure Beef Salami" (70 grams) after E. coli bacteria were detected in individual packages. These bacteria can cause gastrointestinal illnesses – children, pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals are particularly at risk. The product was sold nationwide through Edeka, Netto Marken-Discount, and Kaufland.
The affected batch is L2517700010, with best-before dates of August 14, August 21, and August 25. This is reported by the portal "lebensmittelwarnung.de."

Consumers are asked not to consume the affected items and to return them to the retail outlet. Returns are possible even without a receipt, and the purchase price will be refunded. Other products from the manufacturer are not affected.
STEC bacteria can cause gastrointestinal illnesses with symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and, in isolated cases, serious complications. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
