"It was no surprise that the Polish president brought with him the astronomically high reparations demand being raised in Warsaw on his inaugural visit to Berlin. (.) Nawrocki himself played this card during the election campaign, warning against the alleged German striving for dominance in Europe, and thus also over Poland. (.) At the same time, Nawrocki and his like-minded colleagues should also know how illusory it is to demand €1.3 trillion in reparations from Germany eighty years after the end of the war. (.)
