Surreal Scenes As Bill Murray Chats Sea Swims With Corner Forward After Clare Club Hurling Game

There was a famous face in the crowd at the Clare intermediate hurling championship on Saturday, as Bill Murray was in the stands for the clash between Clarecastle and Tubber.
Comedy legend Murray is a frequent visitor to Ireland, and has taken in inter-county hurling games in the past in the company of JP McManus.
However, it was Clare, not Limerick, where Murray was spotted on Saturday afternoon.

The Groundhog Day star was pictured sitting alongside Clare GAA chairman Kieran Keating at Clarecastle v Tubber in Ruan, with a place in the semi-finals on the line.
Clarecastle were to run out nine-point victors over last year's finalists, with a final score of 4-19 to 0-22.
There were surreal scenes post-match, as Clarecastle star Rory O'Connell was filmed in conversation with Murray about sea swims and recovery routines.

In the clip, Murray can be heard asking O'Connell about his post-match plans. The Clarecastle corner-forward had one thing on his mind - a quick dip in the sea at Lahinch.
The conversation then shifted to the best strategies around sea swims, with the pair debating the merits of a post-swim coffee or hot shower.
One of the most surreal clips we've ever seen at an intermediate club hurling game.
It was a brilliant day for Clarecastle, who got their revenge after being eliminated at this stage by Tubber in last year's championship.
For Rory O'Connell and any other lucky players or fans who got to meet acting legend Bill Murray, it will also have been a memorable day for an entirely different reason.
Murray is in Ireland filming a travel documentary for the BBC.
His appearance in Clare on Saturday is not the first GAA interaction he has had on his trip. Last weekend, Murray and Irishman Chris O'Dowd were pictured at the Golden Nugget pub in Fossa, where they ran into GAA royalty.

The pair bumped into brothers David and Paudie Clifford, who were hurting after Fossa's defeat in the Kerry final.
O'Dowd introduced the Cliffords to Murray as the "two best footballers in Ireland."
Bill Murray is certainly making the most of his time in Ireland. Whether we will see him with a hurl in hand before he departs remains to be seen.
