Report: Dublin Legends Set To Join Ger Brennan's Backroom Team

2026 will mark the beginning of a new era for Dublin football, as Ger Brennan takes charge of the county's senior footballers.
Brennan takes over from Dessie Farrell, who stepped aside after six seasons in charge following the Dubs' All-Ireland exit at the hands of Tyrone in June.
A two-time All-Ireland winner with the Dubs as a player, Brennan brings trophy-winning pedigree as a manager too, having led Louth to their first Leinster title in 68 years last season.
The questions have now turned to who will be involved in the Dubs' backroom team, and reports suggest Brennan has turned to two legends of the county's football team that he played alongside.

Report: Dean Rock and Denis Bastick to join Ger Brennan's Dublin backroom teamMultiple reports suggest that Dean Rock and Denis Bastick are set to be named on Ger Brennan's coaching team to take charge of Dublin next season.
The three played together on the All-Ireland-winning Dublin team of 2013, with Bastick and Brennan both also starting the final victory over Kerry in 2011.
Templeogue Synge Street man Bastick would go on to win another three Celtic Crosses (five in total) before retiring ahead of the 2018 season.
Dean Rock would go on to become one of the great Dublin forwards of the modern age.
The Ballymun Kickhams sharp-shooter retired with eight All-Ireland wins to his name, having landed decisive scores in the 2017, 2019 and 2023 finals during the greatest eras of Dublin's footballing history.
Both the Irish Examiner and Irish Independent have linked Rock and Bastick with joining Brennan's backroom team. It would certainly track with comments made by the new Dublin manager at his unveiling last week.
In an interview with DubsTV last Friday, Brennan explained how he would build his backroom team.
"There'll be a nice blend of continuity from Dessie Farrell's set-up," Brennan said.
And then I'll integrate a couple of guys I would have played with myself over the years, and they're very much looking forward to getting involved.
It appears as though he has found his first two in Dean Rock and Denis Bastick.
Whether any other Dublin legends will join them remains to be seen.
