Epic Garmin smartwatch now half price - save £360

Garmin has a wide selection of devices with plenty of choice - but when a good deal comes along, it's worth paying attention to. This Garmin Epix Pro 2 smartwatch has a £360 discount at H Samuel, making it just about the cheapest it's been.
Launching at £739.99, it's a significant price drop - although it has been available for around £430 on Amazon recently. The Garmin Epix Pro 2 is a 2023 watch. Originally, the Epix range sat in parallel to Fenix, but offered a brilliant AMOLED display for brighter and sharper colours.
In 2024, Garmin merged Epix and Fenix, so the latest Fenix 8 has an AMOLED screen, but it is much more expensive. So the Epix is a top-tier Garmin, one of the best devices it offers, but offered here for a great price.

The Garmin Epix Pro 2 has a sturdy construction, designed for active and outdoor use, is loaded with the fitness features that Garmin is known for and comes with a 47mm display. It's a big watch, but that also means big battery life - around 16 days.
The display is a cut above older Garmin devices now that it's AMOLED, challenging the likes of the Apple Watch, with crisp visuals and vibrant colours. It has a lot more impact than the old LCD screens that Garmin devices are better known for.
Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2

The Epix is a top tier smartwatch from Garmin with long battery life, a wonderful display, loads of features and rugged design.
There's a new heart rate sensor on this model - the Elevate Gen 5 - promising greater accuracy, while also offering ECG functions. What Garmin is really good at is gathering data from everything a person does - activities, sleep and just general existence, to provide an insight into health and recovery.
Not only will users be able to track workouts, but they will also be able to see how long recovery will take, how much sleep is recommended and how ready they are for the next workout.
The range of sports featured in the Garmin Epix is immense. There's tracking for just about every type of sport you can imagine, but the appeal of Garmin's advanced devices (including top Forerunner, Fenix and this Epix model) is the advanced metrics for things like running and cycling.
There's a 10ATM (100m) protection for diving, a 1.3-inch display on the 47mm watch (47mm is the case size), while there's 32GB of storage to record workouts and to download music. That means users can connect Bluetooth headphones, so there's no need to take a phone when running.
The smartphone app (Apple and Android supported) is where owners can check all that data, while also getting messages and being able to accept or reject calls, or quickly reply to messages. The connection doesn't give an experience that's quite as fluid as the Apple Watch - and while there are apps that can be added to the Garmin, it can't compete with the approach the Apple Watch offers, which is about the only downside of this device, as well as the bulk of it.
If the Garmin Epix is just too rugged, then the Pixel Watch 4 at £449 is a great alternative for those Android users seeking a sleeker design, or the Apple Watch SE 3 for iPhone owners, currently £249 on Amazon.
Garmin is often a big discounter on Black Friday, so shoppers can expect more discounts in the future, but this early Garmin Epix Pro 2 deal looks like a good place to start.
