Best console to play GTA VI unveiled with £245 price cut as UK gamers race to pre-order

There’s no doubt it's one of the most anticipated gaming launches of all time, and after thirteen years in the making, Rockstar Games has finally lifted the lid on GTA VI pre-orders. Today, June 25, gamers can pre-order it as we speak.

Now available to order across sites including Argos, Game and Amazon, thousands of gamers are racing to get their hands on the release, before the November 19 on-sale date. With the usual high speeds and action, it’ll focus on Lucia and Jason’s story.

Amid the flurry to secure pre-orders on the heightened dramatics, storytelling, and immersive GTA release, what console would be best to play it on? This is especially crucial for PC gamers who will need to invest in a console to play GTA VI, as the PC version has been ditched.

Gamers still have months to wait to try it out, but there’s one console that’ll enhance the game when it comes to graphics, performance and crisp image. Essentially, giving players as close to the trailer graphics as possible.

It's the PS5 Pro. Sony’s newest model is the console to pick for gamers who are fussy about getting the best GTA VI experience. It is around £200 more expensive than the standard PS5 but with boosted features.

It has a 45% bigger graphics processor than the PS5 and better Advanced Ray Tracing. This will help give gamers crystal-clear visuals of the heavy game but with buttery smooth movement.

Despite its heightened cost, the PS5 Pro can be bought for less, as we’ve done the groundwork to dig out are rare deal. EE is cutting up to £245 off the price for PS5 trade-in shoppers. Anyone who trades in, this essentially cuts the PS5 Pro to a record low of £509.99.

For those without a PS5 console to trade in, it is still cheaper, as EE cut the price by £35 to £754.99. To compare, both Very and Currys sell the Pro for £789.

An official statement from Rockstar also goes into the detail around the Ultimate Edition. It states: “Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, which amplifies the deepest and most immersive GTA experience yet with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.”

The standard single player GTA VI is also out on pre-order and any PS5 or Xbox Series X/S users who pre-order can play from November 19. All pre-order shoppers will get the Vintage Vice City Pack included too.
