ITV GMB star interrupts show to announce major Britain's Got Talent news

On Wednesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, Richard Arnold dropped a bombshell about Britain's Got Talent.
Speaking with hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins, the ITV personality announced a significant alteration to the semi-final format for the talent show.
Richard excitedly shared: "I can exclusively reveal another change to this year's format, introducing the brand new live semi-final golden buzzer!
"For the first time in BGT history, the buzzer will now appear during the live rounds. It has already been pressed eight times this series."
Originally introduced in 2014, the golden buzzer allowed each judge, as well as presenters Ant and Dec, to send an act directly to the semi-finals just once per season.
Yet, this rule has been frequently bent over the years, resulting in multiple presses during auditions.
This series witnessed acts like Vinnie McKee, Will Burns, Stacey Leadbetter, Olly Pearson, The Blackouts and Linda Mudzenda benefit from the golden buzzer, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Delving deeper into the update, Richard further stated: "This year, one judge or Ant and Dec will be allowed to use the golden buzzer in the semi-finals as well.
"It'll give their chosen act a spot in the grand finale in May. The other acts will then face the public vote as usual."
Charlotte Hawkins responded to the news by saying: "They (the judges) are going to be fighting over that, aren't they?!"
Britain's Got Talent is shaking things up this year, not just with its line-up but also with how the semi-finals will be broadcast.
Traditionally, the semi-finals take place nightly over a single week leading up to the live final. This time around, however, they're spreading out the excitement over five weeks, starting on April 26.
Adding to the fresh feel of the show, BGT audiences were treated to KSI as a guest judge. Prior to his stint on the panel, he expressed his enthusiasm: "I'm so excited to be a guest judge for Britain's Got Talent. When I got the call-up, I couldn't believe it.
"I remember watching old BGT episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my arse off. I'm buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I'll be sure to leave a mark!"
Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday on ITV at 7pm. Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.
