How to get Sky TV with Netflix for just £13 per month and you get £40 shopping voucher

BIG PICTURE
The offer ends at midnight, tonight, August 27
TELLY lovers can bag Sky’s latest streaming deal for the equivalent of just £13 a month but the offer ends tonight.
New customers who haven’t had Sky TV for at least 12 months can sign up to Sky Stream by 11.59pm on Wednesday, August 27, and get the service for £15 a month on a two-year contract.
The package includes all the basic Sky channels, plus Netflix’s ad-supported plan, which normally costs £5.99 a month on its own.
On top of that, Sky will send out an email offering a £40 prepaid Mastercard or a voucher for Tesco, Sainsbury’s, M&S, John Lewis or Currys.
When the voucher is factored in, the price works out at the equivalent of £13.33 a month across the two years.
Sky Stream doesn’t require a satellite dish, instead, the “puck” device plugs straight into the TV and streams via broadband.
Customers can watch Freeview, Sky exclusives such as Sky Atlantic, and Netflix shows all in one place.
Those who want to catch live sport can bolt on the full Sky Sports package for an extra £20 a month, down from the usual £33.
That gives access to all nine channels showing Premier League football, Formula 1, cricket, golf and more.
To qualify, shoppers must first register the email they’ll use for their Sky subscription via a dedicated GiftCloud link. After that, they need to head over to Sky’s website to take out the Essential TV contract.
There are no upfront fees for the service, but it’s worth bearing in mind that Sky is likely to increase its monthly charges during the contract.
While the hikes are usually small, they could make the deal less cost-effective over the next two years. Those who cancel early will also be hit with exit fees.
And for anyone wondering when the voucher will arrive, GiftCloud says it can take up to 120 days after the original purchase to be verified and delivered by email, so shoppers will need to be patient.
With the cost of streaming adding up, many households are looking for ways to cut back.
One simple trick is to rotate subscriptions, like cancelling Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video for a few months at a time and only paying for the one being used.
It’s also worth checking mobile or broadband contracts, as some providers bundle streaming services at a discount.
This latest Sky deal could be a good way to lock in Netflix and Sky channels at a cheaper monthly price, but shoppers will need to act fast before the offer closes tonight.
TV fans fed up with rising bills for their favourite streaming services have found an app that could help them save money.
Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and others have been steadily increasing prices recently.
Whilst the most obvious way to save money is by cancelling your account, it can be difficult deciding which one to chop.
Luckily, a little-known app called Watchworthy might help.
The free platform already offers recommendations based on what you watch.
But the app has just received a new feature that tells you which streaming platforms you have are more "worthy" of keeping than others.
Enter the subscriptions you have and select shows you like and dislike, as well as those you haven't seen but may or may not be interested in.
It will then provide you with a "worthy rating" percentage.
This breaks down the streaming app it believes you can get most use out of from one to ten.
Those at the bottom end of the scale you might consider cancelling.
It works for audiences in the UK and the US - though it may suggest platforms that aren't available in the UK, like Max and Peacock.
The app is available for free on iOS and Android.
Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime don't come cheap - and year on year subscription costs seem to go up.
