The finale of Dutton Ranch’s first season aired this week on Paramount+, and fans are already hoping for more. And they’re going to get it. Beth Dutton will be back in South Texas, fighting with Rip Wheeler to survive on their ranch while surrounded by enemies.

Here’s everything we know about season 2 of Dutton Ranch so far. Warning: spoilers ahead.

Yes! Paramount+ announced on June 24 that the series had been renewed.

“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,” Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios, shared. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in season two.”

Beth was looking for a fresh start in Texas, but from the very first episode, troubles abounded. Rip had to hide the body of a ranch hand named Wes, after he was murdered by 10-Petal Ranch’s Rob-Will Jackson, though he only discovers who killed him later.

Matriarch Beulah Jackson is threatened by Rob-Will to leave the ranch to him instead of her eldest, Joaquin. But it’s not just cows they’re selling on that ranch. In the finale, fentanyl is found sewn into the cattle, and Beulah is in the hospital following a heart attack. Guess she’s been juggling a lot!

Beulah started the smuggling when drought hit her ranch and she’s been looking for a way out. She was hoping Beth and Rip could help, but now her worst son is in charge instead.

Speaking of worst sons, Beth is looking for adopted boy, Carter, who is shacked up with his sweetheart, the pregnant Oreana. But the happy news ends there. After a tender heart-to-heart with her father, the nefarious Rob-Will, he’s shot by an unseen gunman. And Carter is kidnapped by the drug goons. They want Beth and Rip to surrender in exchange.

The second season will likely pick up where this dramatic cliffhanger left off, including a new murder mystery for Rob-Will.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reilly shared her perspective on Beth’s transformation from Yellowstone to Dutton Ranch.

“For Beth, there was a corner to turn,” Reilly shared. “Not only was the show literally changing locations, but internally, after the death of Beth’s father, the question for me was: ‘How does that change someone?’ The trauma and the fight. Everything she did was about protecting that legacy. So I was interested in the inner landscape of a woman who doesn’t know who she is right now.”

In addition to Reilly, it’s expected that Cole Hauser, Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris, and Annette Bening will be returning.

Season 1 premiered in May 2026 after it began filming in August 2025, according to the Dallas Express. It doesn’t seem like production has begun yet on the second season.
