Is Every Year After Getting a Season 2? Here’s What We Know

Every Year After arrives on Prime Video today, but the team behind the adaptation is already thinking well beyond the first chapter of Percy and Sam’s love story. While Amazon has yet to officially announce a second season for the romance series, showrunner Amy B. Harris has already discussed plans that could extend the story past the events of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Every Summer After, from which season 1 of Every Year After is adapted.
Here’s everything we know so far.
Has Every Year After been renewed for season 2?Not yet.
As of the first season’s release date—June 10, 2026—Prime Video has not officially renewed Every Year After for a second season. However, Harris has indicated that the creative team envisions the series as a longer-running project.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harris said she sees the show lasting multiple seasons and pointed to Fortune’s follow-up novel, One Golden Summer, as a potential roadmap for a second installment.
“We have these six main characters, and I think we’ll be adding characters as the seasons go on,” Harris told the outlet. “I really see this as a series.”
The possibility of future seasons also helps explain why the television adaptation was retitled Every Year After, instead of retaining the book’s original name, Every Summer After. Earlier this year, Harris told ELLE that she was interested in exploring the characters’ lives beyond a single season and across different times of year.
“The book is obviously Every Summer After and takes place during the summer, and the first season does take place in the summer,” she said. “But what I was intrigued by is that it isn’t just every summer that [these characters] have been dealing with the ramifications of their behavior. That doesn’t just affect your summers; it affects every year of your life.”
Harris added, “I’ve been thinking a lot about the next season [of the show], and wanting there to be a fall, a winter, a spring.”
What could Every Year After season 2 be about? If the series returns, the most likely source material will be One Golden Summer, Fortune’s 2025 novel set in the same Barry’s Bay universe.
The book shifts focus from Percy Fraser and Sam Florek to Charlie Florek, Sam’s older brother. Harris has already described the novel as a potential “blueprint” for a second season.
In One Golden Summer, Charlie’s story intersects with photographer Alice Everly, who returns to Barry’s Bay years after capturing a photograph that changed the course of her career.
That said, a second season would certainly continue Percy and Sam’s story as well. Harris has suggested there is still plenty more to explore within their relationship after the events of Every Year After season 1—particularly after that cliffhanger finale. As she told Entertainment Weekly, “Even if you end up in a happy relationship, relationships are a lot of work.”
Who would return for Every Year After season 2?No casting announcements have been made, but several members of the season 1 ensemble would likely return if the show moves forward.
Potential returning cast members include:
- Sadie Soverall as Persephone “Percy” Fraser
- Matt Cornett as Sam Florek
- Michael Bradway as Charlie Florek
- Aurora Perrineau as Chantal
- Abigail Cowen as Delilah
- Joseph Chiu as Jordie
A second season adapting One Golden Summer would also likely introduce Alice Everly, one of the novel’s central characters.
When might Every Year After season 2 premiere? It’s too early to know.
Without an official renewal announcement, Prime Video has not shared any release plans for a potential second season. If the show does move forward, fans will likely have to wait until at least 2027 for new episodes.
For now, all eight episodes of season 1 are streaming on Prime Video.
