Prince William wished Wales's national football team good luck ahead of their Euros grand debut on Saturday. The Welsh team competed against the Netherlands at this year's European championships but were defeated with a 0-3 score.

The Prince of Wales, who is patron of the Football Association, took to his social media to post a good luck message in full Welsh before the 2025 UEFA Women’s match. William said: "Best of luck to Wales as they make their Women’s Euros debut. A proud and historical moment for Welsh football." He signed off with the Welsh: "Pob lwc!" which means "Good luck" and his initial, "W".

Earlier this week, the Prince of Wales headed to St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent to meet with England's Lionesses and wish them luck ahead of their match on Saturday against France.

England managed to score one goal but was beat by France after Sandy Baltimore's second goal.

On Wednesday, July 9, England will compete against the Netherlands, while Wales are set to face France in Zurich and St.Gallen respectively.

Next Sunday, the two countries will also compete against each other in another match at St.Gallen.

The heir to the throne is an avid football fan and is regularly seen attending matches, including for his favourite club, Aston Villa.

In April, he was spotted with Prince George in France watching Aston Villa play PSG in a Champions League quarter-final match.
